The wavephotos.com watermark will not be on the prints that you order. Unfortunately, many people on the web will try to steal our images for their own use. We regret having to utilize a watermark, so we have tried to make it as unobtrusive to your viewing pleasure as possible.
Q) Is any editing done to the photographs?
All of our slides are scanned on with a top of the line Nikon film scanner at
the highest resolution possible, which allows us to further control the color
output of our photographic prints. Today, with the advent of the digital “RAW” file, the photographer has even more control over the final output of the print. The only editing that we do consists of optimizing levels, adjusting curves,
fine-tuning the color and ensuring that the image is ready for final output to
the printer. All of our photographs are considered “straight” prints in that we
do not digitally mix and match different elements, nor do we produce composite
photographs. What you see is what the artist saw through the lens. The digital
darkroom is an amazing place and it is through many hours of experimentation
that we can output a print that truly matches the emotion of the scene as we
experienced it.
Q) Should the prints be protected from sunlight exposure?
A) The Ultrachrome dyes that are used in the production of our prints have a rated life of 80+ years before you will see the effects of fading. Mounting your photograph under glass is one of the best ways of protection against harmful ultra violet light. The sun is very strong and it will have an effect on most anything given enough time. If you have a choice, then don’t display your photograph in direct sunshine. If you do, rest assured that the Ultrachrome dyes are currently the best on the market in regards to resisting fading.
